The Development Core provides support to enhance the capacity of HIV Center investigators to employ state of the art information technology (IT) tools for data collection, outreach, intervention, and scientific collaboration. Core members with expertise on IT developments provide consultations, presentations, and demonstrations to propose new tools for HIV-related research. In collaboration with the Administrative and SED Cores, Core members will identify advantages and disadvantages of various methods including costs for set-up and maintenance, privacy and security concerns, and appropriateness and relevance for the study of interest. The Core also provides investigators updates on IT tools for online meetings, web conferencing, creation of real-time virtual working environments, and delivery of pre-recorded training lessons and presentations through video interactions to train staff globally on specific skills. Core members participate in Cross Core meetings in which new projects are discussed or launched. Individual consultations are also available.
