Paul D’Avanzo, PhD, MSPostdoctoral Research Fellow, HIV Center for Clinical and Behavioral Studies Email: -Dr. D’Avanzo’s research seeks to address implementation issues around screening and treatment for HIV and other sexually transmitted infections. As a behavioral scientist, he looks for opportunities to enhance healthcare providers’ compliance with clinical guidelines through the application of social and behavioral theory. In a rapidly changing healthcare environment, he hopes to better understand clinicians’ education and training needs, and to develop provider-targeted behavioral interventions to help them better meet the needs of their sexual and gender minority patients, and patients living with HIV.EDUCATIONTemple University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania PhD – 2021 – Social & Behavioral Health SciencesUniversity of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania MS – 2013 – Master of Science in Education in Mental Health CounselingClark University, Worcester, Massachusetts BA – 2008 – Psychology and Philosophy
