Huso Yi is a postdoctoral research fellow at the HIV Center. He received his doctorate in Health Studies specializing in Human Sexuality at New York University. His research has focused on advancing theory, research methods, and policy in the field of sexuality and HIV/AIDS through ethnography and empirical research. In particular, he is interested in examining how social and cultural change has shaped the AIDS epidemic and how the life course of migration and geo-social mobility/instability is associated with sexual risk and illicit drug use/initiation in growing urban cultures. He recently conducted his fieldwork study in China supported by the HIV Center, and he is developing international research collaboration on HIV prevention among at-risk groups in China and other Asian countries.
