Katherine Elkington, Ph.D., received her doctorate in clinical psychology from Northwestern University and is currently a postdoctoral research fellow at the HIV Center for Clinical and Behavioral Studies at the New York Psychiatric Institute and Columbia University. Dr. Elkington's research has focused on examining correlates and prevalence of HIV and other risk behaviors among high-risk adolescents. In particular, she is interested in examining contextual factors associated with HIV risk behaviors among adolescents with psychiatric disorders. Additional areas of research have focused on the development of HIV prevention interventions among adults with serious mental illness. Dr. Elkington has received clinical training with both adults and adolescents and completed her clinical psychology internship at Beth Israel Medical Center, New York.
