Postdoctoral Research Fellow

TEL: 212-568-4381

last update: 4/21/08

Dr. Bradley is a psychiatrist who completed his clinical training in the newly boarded subspecialty of Psychosomatic Medicine (psychiatry for the medically ill) at New York Presbyterian Hospital, where he focused on psychiatric disorders as both risk factors and sequelae in HIV disease. He is a postdoctoral research fellow at the HIV Center, where his research interests concentrate upon the part played by mental illness in health outcomes and medical care among both HIV-positive and HIV-negative individuals. He is particularly interested in the effect of psychiatric disorders upon HIV-related behaviors, especially sexual risk and antiretroviral adherence, and the potential role for psychiatric treatment in HIV risk reduction and improved medical outcomes. He is presently conducting a pilot study examining longitudinal relationships between depression symptoms and antiretroviral adherence among HIV-positive clinic patients.
