Dr. Warne is Associate Director of the HIV Center with primary responsibility
for matters of grant proposal development, peer review, and programmatic
coordination. In addition to her work on extramural funding initiatives, she is
the Director of the HIV Center's Pilot Studies Program.
Since receiving her doctorate in biochemistry from Columbia University in 1982,
Dr. Warne has developed particular expertise in conceptualization and
communication of scientific programs and outcomes, consulting on research grant
proposal development and manuscript preparation in a variety of venues. With her
backgrounds in both the basic biomedical laboratory sciences and the behavioral
sciences, Dr. Warne is in a unique position to be a liaison among researchers in
different scientific disciplines relevant to HIV research and between the HIV
Center and the scientific, general, and international communities.
