Dr. Bridget Anderson is the Director of the New York State Department of Health’s Bureau of HIV/AIDS Epidemiology. As Principal Investigator, she oversees a portfolio of federal cooperative agreements related to the conduct of HIV surveillance and supplemental surveillance projects including the Medical Monitoring Project and the National HIV Behavioral Surveillance system. She has over two decades of experience with communicable disease surveillance, case control studies of infectious disease, and other population health related research, including foodborne disease and HIV outbreak/cluster investigations. Dr. Anderson is responsible for the surveillance implementation of HIV-related public health law/regulation changes, including expansions in laboratory and clinician reporting requirements, and the use of surveillance data for public health action. She is active nationally within the Council for State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE) HIV Subcommittee and with the CDC in a variety of capacities, including service as past chair of the subcommittee and past service as liaison to the NASTAD Prevention Advisory Committee.
