Matthew Feldman, PhD, MSW, is a member of the HIV Center's Intervention Science Core and a Senior Research Analyst in the Research and Evaluation Unit of the Care and Treatment Program of the Bureau of HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. His recent research and evaluation projects have included an assessment of mental health services utilization, a process and outcome evaluation of an HIV self-management program, in addition to a study on the relationship between food insecurity and viral suppression. Dr. Feldman is currently a Co-Principal Investigator (with Dr. Susan Tross) of a study designed to develop HIV care and treatment adherence support interventions for virally unsuppressed people living with HIV who are only receiving Ryan White Part A ancillary services (including food and nutrition, housing, legal advocacy, and harm reduction services) that are designed to meet basic needs (R21MH112421). Formerly, Dr. Feldman was the Associate Director of Program Services Research and Evaluation at Gay Men's Health Crisis (GMHC) in New York City, where he oversaw the research and evaluation of program services. In addition to his research and evaluation activities, Dr. Feldman has over 10 years of clinical practice experience working with a variety of populations, including people living with HIV/AIDS. He is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Columbia University School of Social Work where he teaches research and practice courses to Master's students.
