Over the twelve years of his work in the Statistical Analysis Center, Mr. Buchsbaum has developed an approach to research data management that integrates multiple technologies (websites, desktop applications, telephone systems, wireless connectivity, centralized data storage, etc.) to address the full spectrum of research data needs. These include not just the collection of analytical data, but also data for logistical and managerial tasks. This integrated approach has been shown to increase the accuracy and real-time availability of research data, and to contribute to the more efficient execution of studies. In addition to his work at the SAC, Mr. Buchsbaum serves as a database consultant to investigators at New York University, New York Beth Isreal Medical Center, Emory University and others, and has served as an advisor to the NINDS's Common Data Elements initiative.
