Hector is a dedicated Research Associate for the HIV Center, with a particular interest in the challenges faced by those born HIV-positive transitioning to adulthood. Previously serving as a Research Associate for CASAH and Howard University’s Global Community Health Lab, Hector consulted on research, co-authored academic articles, and presented at the 30th Annual John P. Johnson Memorial Lecture at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Division of Community Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine.

Alongside his research endeavors, Hector has a creative background in producing music and developing media content. He enjoys using his passion to develop and promote public service announcements and campaigns that address safe sex practices and the stigma surrounding HIV and AIDS.
