paul D’Avanzo, PhD, MS

Postdoctoral Research Fellow, HIV Center for Clinical and Behavioral Studies

Dr. D’Avanzo’s research seeks to address implementation issues around screening and treatment for HIV and other sexually transmitted infections. As a behavioral scientist, he looks for opportunities to enhance healthcare providers’ compliance with clinical guidelines through the application of social and behavioral theory. In a rapidly changing healthcare environment, he hopes to better understand clinicians’ education and training needs, and to develop provider-targeted behavioral interventions to help them better meet the needs of their sexual and gender minority patients, and patients living with HIV.
